Eating and Drinking Locally

We really recommend Abarbistro, at the end of the road, and its sister Camber Wines. The Briny further down towards Southsea is also brilliant for lunches and dinners.

For a coffee on Hot Walls, Canteen does great takeaway, as well as cakes and fab brunches to eat in, and has an amazing outdoor terrace overlooking the harbour entrance that can’t be beaten on a sunny morning.

If you’re heading into Southsea during the day, the Beach Cafe opposite the canoe lake is fantastic, as is the cafe inside Southsea Castle itself.

A few minutes walk away, Gunwharf Quays is a great destination for top chain meals from Five Guys and Frankie and Benny’s as well as for shopping, ten pin bowling and the cinema.
